Uncertain significance — the classification assigned by Ambry Genetics to NM_000903.3(NQO1):c.244A>T (p.Ser82Cys), citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.S82C variant (also known as c.244A>T), located in coding exon 3 of the NQO1 gene, results from an A to T substitution at nucleotide position 244. The serine at codon 82 is replaced by cysteine, an amino acid with dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be tolerated by in silico analysis. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear.
