NM_001386125.1(OBSCN):c.8611T>C (p.Cys2871Arg) was classified as Uncertain significance by Ambry Genetics, citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.C2442R variant (also known as c.7324T>C), located in coding exon 27 of the OBSCN gene, results from a T to C substitution at nucleotide position 7324. The cysteine at codon 2442 is replaced by arginine, an amino acid with highly dissimilar properties. This amino acid position is conserved. In addition, this alteration is predicted to be tolerated by in silico analysis. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear.
