The frequency data for this variant in gnomAD is considered unreliable, as metrics indicate poor data quality at this position. c.19G>T also known as Hb Woodville has been reported in individuals who had screening for thalassaemia and haemoglobinopathies (example: Viprakasit_2006, Mansini_2015). Carriers of Hb Woodville appear to have normal haematology without apparent abnormal clinical findings, suggesting that this variant is benign (Viprakasit_2006). These report(s) do not provide unequivocal conclusions about association of the variant with Alpha Thalassemia.
