Submitter rationale: This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of ocular albinism (Invitae). In at least one individual the data is consistent with the variant being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. This sequence change replaces proline with serine at codon 86 of the SLC45A2 protein (p.Pro86Ser). The proline residue is highly conserved and there is a moderate physicochemical difference between proline and serine. This variant is not present in population databases (ExAC no frequency).
