Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome 3; Retinitis pigmentosa 55 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000003.11:g.(?_97486952)_(97516893_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with ARL6-related conditions. A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the ARL6 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in ARL6 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 15258860, 19858128, 20142850, 22334370, 27486776, 31736247). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes.
