Pathogenic for Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000008.10:g.(?_1719221)_(1905429_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CLN8 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in CLN8 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 15024724). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (PMID: 28116333). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.

Reason: This record appears to be redundant with a more recent record from the same submitter.
