Pathogenic for Saldino-Mainzer syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000016.9:g.(?_1633295)_(1637325_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 9-12 of the IFT140 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in IFT140 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 22503633, 23418020, 24009529, 26216056). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with IFT140-related conditions.
