NC_000002.11:g.(?_47693787)_(47710120_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal neoplasms by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. The region of the MSH2 gene that includes exon(s) 14-16 has been determined to be clinically significant (PMID: 25430799, Invitae). Therefore, deletions that encompass that region are likely to disrupt protein function and cause disease. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with MSH2-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 10-16 of the MSH2 gene. The 5' boundary is likely confined to intron 9. The 3' end of this event is unknown as it extends through the termination codon beyond the assayed region for this gene and may encompass additional genes. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to alter mRNA translation or result in a truncated protein product.
