Pathogenic for Cystic fibrosis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000007.13:g.(?_117227774)_(117227921_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 12 of the CFTR gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in CFTR are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 1695717, 7691345, 9725922). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with cystic fibrosis (PMID: 26708955). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
