Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000002.11:g.(?_228029443)_(228176586_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the COL4A3 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in COL4A3 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 8956999, 24854265, 26809805, 27281700). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of Alport syndrome (PMID: 29801666). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
