Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000015.9:g.(?_72978549)_(73029948_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with BBS4-related conditions. A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the BBS4 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in BBS4 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 11381270, 12016587, 20177705, 27894351). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes.
