Pathogenic for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 4A — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000008.10:g.(?_75262697)_(75276602_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Isolated whole-gene deletions of GDAP1 have not been reported in the literature. However, larger copy number events that include this gene have been reported (PMID: 26648837). A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the GDAP1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in GDAP1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 11743580). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes.
