NC_000002.11:g.(?_32288901)_(32379565_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Hereditary spastic paraplegia 4 by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the SPAST gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in SPAST are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20932283). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with hereditary spastic paraplegia (PMID: 25421405). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
