NC_000002.11:g.(?_145153959)_(145158894_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Mowat-Wilson syndrome by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts a region of the ZEB2 protein in which other variant(s) (p.His1066Glnfs*56) have been determined to be pathogenic (Invitae). This suggests that this is a clinically significant region of the protein, and that variants that disrupt it are likely to be disease-causing. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with ZEB2-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 7-9 of the ZEB2 gene. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to disrupt the C-terminus of the protein.
