Pathogenic for DICER1-related tumor predisposition — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000014.8:g.(?_95556835)_(95599795_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the DICER1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in DICER1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 19556464, 21266384). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Isolated whole-gene deletions of DICER1 have not been reported in the literature. However, larger copy number events that include this gene have been reported (PMID: 28960912, 29315962). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
