Pathogenic for GLUT1 deficiency syndrome 1, autosomal recessive — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000001.10:g.(?_43391628)_(43393369_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts a region of the SLC2A1 protein in which other variant(s) (p.Ala472Serfs*5) have been determined to be pathogenic (Invitae). This suggests that this is a clinically significant region of the protein, and that variants that disrupt it are likely to be disease-causing. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SLC2A1-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of exon 10 and part of exon 9 (c.1185_*1084del) of the SLC2A1 gene. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to alter mRNA translation or result in a truncated protein product.
