Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000006.11:g.(?_64776211)_(64791915_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 32-33 of the EYS gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in EYS are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 18836446, 20333770). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with retinitis pigmentosa (PMID: 20333770). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
