Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000006.11:g.(?_3157621)_(3157697_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 1 of the TUBB2A gene, which includes the initiator codon. This deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. However, the current clinical and genetic evidence is not sufficient to establish whether loss-of-function variants in TUBB2A cause disease. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of TUBB2A-related conditions (Invitae). In at least one individual the variant was observed to be de novo. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
