Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_58227396)_(58236785_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CA4 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in CA4 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 33090715). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of retinitis pigmentosa (Invitae). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
