Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000001.10:g.(?_19563616)_(19571544_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 2-12 of the EMC1 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in EMC1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 26572623, 26942288, 29271071). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with EMC1-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
