Pathogenic for Aniridia 1; Irido-corneo-trabecular dysgenesis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.9:g.(?_31824326)_(31832375_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a complex rearrangement involving exon(s) 3-4 and part of exon 5 of the PAX6 gene, which includes the initiator codon. Although the exact nature of the event is unknown, it likely involves a partial deletion of these exons. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in PAX6 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12634864). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with PAX6-related conditions.
