This variant lies in the ATP7A gene (transcript NM_000052.7) at 5 bases into the intron immediately after coding-DNA position 3294, where A is replaced by C. Submitter rationale: This sequence change falls in intron 16 of the ATP7A gene. It does not directly change the encoded amino acid sequence of the ATP7A protein. It affects a nucleotide within the consensus splice site. This variant is present in population databases (rs370596012, gnomAD 0.02%), including at least one homozygous and/or hemizygous individual. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with ATP7A-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 1431257).
