This variant lies in the PTCH1 gene (transcript NM_000264.5) at the canonical splice donor site of the intron immediately after coding-DNA position 201 through 3 bases into the intron immediately after coding-DNA position 201, duplicating this region. Submitter rationale: This sequence change falls in intron 1 of the PTCH1 gene. It does not directly change the encoded amino acid sequence of the PTCH1 protein. It affects a nucleotide within the consensus splice site. In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease.
