Likely pathogenic for Oculocutaneous albinism type 4 — the classification assigned by Women's Health and Genetics/Laboratory Corporation of America, LabCorp to NM_016180.5(SLC45A2):c.265G>A (p.Gly89Arg), citing LabCorp Variant Classification Summary - May 2015: Variant summary: SLC45A2 c.265G>A (p.Gly89Arg) results in a non-conservative amino acid change in the encoded protein sequence. Five of five in-silico tools predict a damaging effect of the variant on protein function. The variant was absent in 251016 control chromosomes (gnomAD). c.265G>A has been reported in the literature in individuals affected with Oculocutaneous albinism type 4 (e.g. Inagaki_2006, Okamura_2016, 2019). These data indicate that the variant is likely to be associated with disease. To our knowledge, no experimental evidence demonstrating an impact on protein function has been reported. The following publications have been ascertained in the context of this evaluation (PMID: 16965274, 26573111, 32969595, 30019506). ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 1404789).
