Pathogenic for Microphthalmia, syndromic 9 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NM_022369.4(STRA6):c.985del (p.Val329fs), citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with STRA6-related conditions. This variant is not present in population databases (ExAC no frequency). This sequence change creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Val329Serfs*27) in the STRA6 gene. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in STRA6 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 17273977, 19309693).
