This variant lies in the SRCAP gene (transcript NM_006662.3) at coding-DNA position 8405, where C is replaced by T; at the protein level this means replaces serine at residue 2802 with phenylalanine — a missense variant. Submitter rationale: Variant summary: SRCAP c.8405C>T (p.Ser2802Phe) results in a non-conservative amino acid change in the encoded protein sequence. Five of five in-silico tools predict a damaging effect of the variant on protein function. The variant allele was found at a frequency of 2e-05 in 204562 control chromosomes. The available data on variant occurrences in the general population are insufficient to allow any conclusion about variant significance.
