Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000021.8:g.(?_34923768)_34933642del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant results in the deletion of part of exon 3 and all of exons 4-7 of the SON gene. While this is not anticipated to result in nonsense mediated decay, it likely alters RNA splicing and results in a disrupted protein product. This variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of Zhu-Tokita-Takenouchi-Kim syndrome (Invitae). In at least one individual the variant was observed to be de novo. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
