Pathogenic for Neurofibromatosis, type 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_29490198)_(29497021_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the NF1 gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Loss-of-function variants in NF1 are known to be pathogenic. Gross deletions of the NF1 gene have been observed in many individuals with neurofibromatosis type 1 (PMID: 8116612, 8931693, 9643287). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
