Pathogenic for Chondrodysplasia punctata, brachytelephalangic, autosomal — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_2838632)_(2878441_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the ARSE gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Similar whole-gene deletions of ARSE have been reported in individuals affected with chondrodysplasia punctata (PMID: 23470839, 12567415). Loss-of-function variants in ARSE are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9497243, 23470839). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
