NC_000006.11:g.(?_135751000)_(135754414_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Joubert syndrome by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 15-17 of the AHI1 gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with Joubert syndrome or Meckel-Gruber syndrome (PMID: 26729329). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
