Pathogenic for Neurofibromatosis, type 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_29652828)_(29677346_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. The region of the NF1 gene that includes exon(s) 43-44 has been determined to be clinically significant (PMID: 16283621, 18055911; Invitae). Therefore, deletions that encompass that region are likely to be disease-causing. Experimental studies and prediction algorithms are not available or were not evaluated, and the functional significance of this variant is currently unknown. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with NF1-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 36-49 of the NF1 gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame.
