Pathogenic for Neurofibromatosis, type 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_29587625)_(29669475_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 34-46 of the NF1 gene. This creates a premature translational stop signal and is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. While this particular variant has not been reported in the literature, truncating variants in NF1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10712197, 23913538).
