Pathogenic for Baller-Gerold syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000008.10:g.(?_145738945)_(145743168_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Loss-of-function variants in RECQL4 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12734318, 12952869). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with RECQL4-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 1-13 of the RECQL4 gene, which includes the initiator codon. The 5' end of this event is unknown as it extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. The 3' boundary is likely confined to intron 13 of the RECQL4 gene. This is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product.
