Pathogenic for Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, 2; Angelman syndrome-like — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_18525211)_(18528980_?)dup, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Family studies have indicated that this duplication was not present in the parents of an individual with CDKL5-related disease, which suggests that it was de novo in that affected individual (Invitae). This variant is a gross duplication of the genomic region encompassing exons 2-3 ¬†of the CDKL5 gene. The 5' end of this event is unknown as it extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. The 3' boundary is likely confined to intron 3 of the CDKL5 gene.
