NC_000017.10:g.(?_29587381)_(29662055_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Neurofibromatosis, type 1 by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the NF1 gene has been identified. This deletion extends beyond both edges of the assayed region, and the 5' and 3' boundaries of this event are not known. Deletions of chromosome 17q11.2 regions encompassing the NF1 gene are known to be pathogenic and are estimated to account for 4-5% of individuals affected with neurofibromatosis type 1 (PMID: 14722914, 20513137, 24958239). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
