Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.9:g.(?_66283154)_(66287229_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with BBS1-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 6-8 of the BBS1 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in BBS1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12118255, 21520335, 27032803).
