Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_22237153)_(22245728_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 17-20 of the PHEX gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Loss-of-function variants in PHEX are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9097956, 9106524, 19219621). Deletion of exons 17-20 has been observed in an individual with hypophosphatemic rickets.
