NC_000017.10:g.(?_3392519)_(3564038_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Nephropathic cystinosis; Ocular cystinosis; Juvenile nephropathic cystinosis by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CTNS gene has been identified. The boundaries of this event are unknown as the deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Whole-gene deletions have not been reported in the literature in individuals with CTNS-related disease. Loss-of-function variants in CTNS are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9537412, 27102039). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
