Pathogenic for Familial cancer of breast — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000022.10:g.(?_29083885)_(29130709_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CHEK2 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in CHEK2 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 21876083, 24713400). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with breast cancer (PMID: 30580288). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
