Pathogenic for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, classic type, 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000009.11:g.(?_137582748)_(137677904_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is an out-of-frame deletion of the genomic region encompassing 2-31 of the COL5A1 gene. This is expected to create a premature translational stop signal and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. Loss-of-function variants in COL5A1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 23587214). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with COL5A1-related conditions.
