Uncertain significance for Hereditary diffuse gastric adenocarcinoma — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000016.9:g.(?_68835559)_(68867794_?)dup, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This sequence change is a gross duplication of the genomic region encompassing exons 3-16 of the CDH1 gene. This duplication extends to the edge of the assayed region; therefore, the 3' boundary of this event is not known. This duplication has not been published in the literature. While the exact position of the duplicated exons cannot be determined from this data, the most likely explanation is that it occurs in tandem. Whether this results in an absent or disrupted protein product remains uncertain. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.
