This simple 3-step chart shows that a test for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), by clinical exam or clinical exam plus PET scan, leads to a decision to treat if the test result is positive. It further shows that those who actually have AD will benefit in terms of reduced mortality and slowed disease progression, while those without AD will experience no major harm from treatment.
