GST-maspin and its mutants (1μM) were tested for ability to inhibit endothelial cell migration towards bFGF (10 ng/ml). Maspin, GST-maspin fusion protein; Maspin ΔRSL, maspin with a deletion at C-terminus; Maspin*, maspin containing a R to Q mutation at the P1 residue af the RSL loopl Maspin ΔN, maspin with a deletion at the N-terminus. Glutathione-S-transferase tested alone was neutral in this assay. * indicates columns significantly different from migration towards bFGF (bFGF----) p<0.01.
