Drug Levels and Effects

Summary of Use during Lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of tenapanor during breastfeeding. However, it is minimally absorbed orally and 99% bound to plasma proteins, so the amount in milk is likely to be negligible and would not be significantly absorbed by the infant. If tenapanor is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
