Figure fourteen depicts a shrinkage plot for amoxicillin-clavulanate (seven to ten days) versus azithromycin (less than five days) for treatment success for age greater than two years. Using the articles identified in the 2001 report and articles newly identified in this review that assessed the effectiveness of treatment options in uncomplicated acute otits media by age groups, we identified two treatment comparisons with more than two trials: ampicillin/amoxicillin versus placebo and amoxicillin-clavulanate (seven to ten days days) versus azithromycin (less than five days).
