Target validation scoring criteria. Data collection for each target is done to progressively increase relevance in HD. Starting from the exploratory biology stages for acquisition of target and its association with HD, the target gene becomes a disease target when its causal relationship to HD is established. From this stage onward, research needs to take on a decidedly industrial “drug discovery” perspective and must exercise standardized experimental practices and decision-making processes to effectively promote therapeutic targets.
