Summary of Use during Lactation

No published information is available on the use of didanosine during breastfeeding. In the US and other countries where access to clean water and affordable replacement feeding are available, it is recommended that mothers living with HIV not breastfeed their infants to avoid postnatal transmission of HIV-1 infection. Didanosine is not recommended during breastfeeding.[1,2]
