NOTES: Data are for the civilian noninstitutionalized population. Starting in 1999 estimates of poverty have been calculated using Census 2000-based population weights. Starting in 2000 estimates are based on an expanded household sample. Implementation of these changes had no effect on the all ages poverty rate for 2000 and a 0.1–0.3 percent difference in the age-specific poverty rates for 2000. See Appendix II, Poverty level.
