Description

Bacillus krulwichiae is an obligate alkaliphilic organism which grows at pH 8-10 but not neutral pH and which utilizes benzoate and m-hydroxybenzoate. The type strain AM31D was isolated from aromatic-compound-contaminated garden soil samples obtained in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.
