Methanoculleus sp MAB1 has been isolated from mesophilic methanogenic systems. It is a syntrophic partner of Syntrophic acetate oxidising bacteria, which mutually dependent to each other to oxidise acetate and produce energy rich methane as an end product by degrading the protein rich waste materials.
